DC Goes 3-D: The DC Super Hero Pop Up Book!

With such a robust history, it’s often hard to educate new readers in the completely ridiculous retcons rich and varied story lines that have created the comic book continuum we hold so dear.  Marvel has their handbooks and encyclopedias, as does DC (or there is always Wikipedia), and for some, that is good enough in leading the way to a healthy obsession.  However, much like the tobacco industry, one has to think how to hook them at an earlier age.  That is why DC created DC Super Heroes: The Ultimate Pop-Up Book, and believe you me, this encyclopedic-style book really…uhhh…stands up above the rest (sorry).

The book itself is only 6 double page spreads long.  But on each page are smaller booklets, all with pop-up’s of their own!  There’s a page for the Superman family, Batman corporation, Wonder Women and miscellaneous JLAers.  However, they haven’t forgotten the villans, giving Darkseid and a cavalcade of evil doers a very imposing and tyrannical pop-up.  An easy read with incredible and intricately detailed pop-ups (with a light up bat-signal, even!), this book has a very accessible wealth of knowledge that never seems too wordy and will even keep the attention of the more ADD riddled geeks!  Truly, DC made this book for bottle sucking geeks…of all ages! SCORE: BAG IT!
