With the Comics by comiXology 3.1 update, not only can you share what you are reading with your social networks online with new sharing features, but you can now experience a true High Definition comic books on your iOS device. Not all comiXology digital comics are CMX-HD just yet… but we’re working on it! Just discovered CMX has now deleted each issue cover for the Walking Dead volumes! Why? Bring them back please!

Sounds great, now I only need a new iPad
Only appears in the iOS app not on the site. Would be nice if it appeared on the site also, but if you looks at anything new it will show the CMX-HD logo in the bottom right or top left depending on the page type you land on.
I too am stuck in the loop! “An update is available”
Where did you find it? I’ve been looking everywhere for some sort of designation.
I also have that but with certain comics only. Chew Vol2 for example. Any replies from comixology?

Any plans to mark comics which are CMX-HD anywhere? It would be nice to know if the comic I am buying supports CMX-HD or not.
Huh, now I see that people using iOS are also being prompted to redownload their comics over and over.
I am also stuck in the “An update is available” loop.
I just downloaded the updated Comixology app for my shiny new retina-powered iPad.
When I try to read some of the comics I’ve bought, such as Divination #1, I keep getting prompted with the “An update to this comic is available for improved reading” message. As soon as it downloads and I click to read the book again, I get the “An update to this comic…” message again, and it tries to redownload what looks like the same file with the same file size. It keeps doing that over and over. Manually closing the app and even power-cycling didn’t help.
Any suggestions for what I can do? Thanks!
(I can’t wait to give CMX-HD a whirl, by the way. I was already floored by how much better digital comics look with the retina display before this update, and to find out that there’s still a step up from there…!)
Any plans to disable the ‘rendering’ transition effect when one goes back a page in full-page view? Or make the effect toggle-able? I understand that this effect is to help guided view users know when they have gone back to a previous page but in full-page view it is really jarring, especially as I am always flipping back and forward through the comic as I read them.
Otherwise, AMAZING APP!!
