With the latest installment of John Leavitt and Molly Crabapple’s The Puppet Makers out this week from DC Comics we’d thought we’d treat readers to a little something special just in time for the weekend. A sneak peak at Ms. Crabapple and Co. recently announce animated short! Check it out:
Here’s a little more info on project:
The artwork is hand drawn by Molly Crabapple, the New York sensation and international superstar of Dr. Sketchy’s fame
The story and soundtrack are provided by world renowned musician, Kim Boekbinder’s, popular song, “The Organ Donor’s March,” a rollicking, accordion based, sing-a-long about love, loss, and life after death.
The film itself will be paper puppet stop motion, animated by Jim Batt, a Melbourne based filmmaker whose work has screened at international film festivals.
Molly’s drawings will be turned into paper puppets that move within their own wonderful world.
Crabapple, Boekbinder, & Batt came together through the magic of the internet in early 2010 and have spent the last year scheming, planning, drawing, cutting, coloring, and testing.
